With my 5-in-1 painter's tool, I dug into the wall at the Krannert Art Museum in Champaign, IL. Some of the staff and visitors could pick out individual shows by the different colors. The wall was re-surfaced in the mid-80s and has since been layered with paint year after year. Various curators have had particular palette preferences. And some years there is less of a budget for fresh coats of paint in the large East Gallery than other years.
